Winter Friends - Skincare Tips
Greetings from the North Pole! Wait, it’s South Carolina, but it feels like the north. As a northerner, I’m grateful for my experiences with cold weather and, yet, it’s unwelcome in my mind.
When it comes to your skin, you need a few more friends to help you hydrate and keep your skin healthy and glowing during the cold weather. Both the cold outside and the heat inside have an impact on your face. So, what are some of those friends?
Let’s start with your current routine:
- Wash your face in the morning with a facial soap or facial cleanser. The soap you use on your body doesn’t work as well on your face because there’s a difference in your skin.
- Apply moisturizer.
- If you have more mature skin, you may want to use an anti-aging serum or anti-aging moisturizer.
- You can choose a moisturizer with spf or use another product ON TOP of your moisturizer with SPF, such as a primer or CC Cream.
- Apply eye cream if necessary.
- Wash your face and moisturize at night too. We lose skin cells and need to regenerate them while we sleep.
Then, during the day, add what you normally use before going out the door or meeting clients virtually.
What to ADD in winter:
- A serum that hydrates BEFORE moisturizer, or
- A hydrating cream that seals in a lightweight moisturizer.
Remember, you have choices. Lots of them. Be sure to use what’s best for you. A personal, private appointment with me gives you tools and knowledge so that you make the best decisions. Please feel free to reach out to me.
Your face is the only thing that’s visible, especially during these months, so it needs added protection. What about your lips and hands?
Let’s leave that for another time, but be sure to keep drinking water even if it’s cold outside. The inside of our bodies need continuous hydration as well.
