United Way of Horry County Seeks Volunteers for Tax Preparation
United Way of Horry County’s (UWHC) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to provide free tax preparation and electronic filing services to Horry County residents will begin on January 25, 2025. This year, there will be four sites for free tax preparation in Conway, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Surfside Beach. Conway Elementary School & City of Conway Awarded Prestigious Moon Tree from NASA
Conway Elementary School in partnership with the City of Conway have been awarded a prestigious Moon Tree from NASA. This Moon Tree will serve as the first Moon Tree of record in the state of South Carolina. The tree was aboard the Artemis 1 space craft which left the Earth on November 16, 2022, orbited the moon for 25 and ½ days, and traveled 270,000 miles from Earth before splashing down on December 11, 2022.
