United Way is Hiring an Admin & Donor Relations Coordinator
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The Administrative & Donor Relations Coordinator contributes to the
achievement of United Way of Horry County’s (UWHC) mission and vision by managing donor records and
assisting in the day-to-day operation of performing administrative and data processing duties as well as
assisting with fundraising, planning, distribution, and special projects assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree preferred. Minimum of two-year administrative experience
required and prior experience in nonprofit sector preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Donor Relations
1. Manages donor database (Bloomerang), including data entry, imports, exports, and reports. Regularly
pulls data for donor relations team and assists with managing progress to goals and donor cultivation
strategies.
2. Works to continually update, review, and perform maintenance for donor database. (Bloomerang)
3. Implements a timely and tailored donation acknowledgement that includes generating acknowledgement
letters and cards, providing information to support phone calls, and calling donors to thank them and/or
confirm gift information and recognition.
4. Coordinates donor mailings and year-end tax statements.
5. Manages donor inquiries and communication as needed.
6. Assist with grant record keeping.
7. Assist with donor engagement activities, including mailings and special events.
8. Complete monthly billing for the workplace campaigns and follow up on outstanding pledges.
Office Management
1.Provide ongoing administrative support to the office, driving organizational success through the
management of daily operations and special projects.
2.Serves as the first line of service for visitors and callers, including directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
3.Serve as point person for IT-related issues and makes IT requests and calls.
4.Monitor, manage and maintain office equipment and supplies; request repair or restocking when necessary.
5.Maintains assigned filing systems including creating copies, making pdf documents, saving files to shared
drive and other needs as identified.
6.Coordinate Board and select committee meetings through preparation and distribution of meeting materials,
management of attendance, and coordination of meeting location, equipment, and materials. Attends
meetings, record meeting minutes, and distributes minutes.
7.Coordinate with UWHC leadership team with other projects as needed.
8.Continually work with appropriate staff to update and review UWHC policies and procedures.
9.Assist with volunteer management/organization.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES (Duties may vary depending on assignment):
1. Maintains confidentiality
2. Ensures proper documentation and back-up for all expenditure transactions.
3. Types letters, reports, etc. when assigned.
4. Assists as required with reporting and records.
5. Ability to complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner with little or no supervision.
6. Must have valid driver’s license, vehicle and state required personal vehicle insurance or consistent
access to same.
7. Must adhere to UWHC workplace principles and values.
8. Other duties as assigned to achieve the mission of the UWHC.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the
following competencies:
1. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, advanced interpersonal / relational skills and
presentation skills.
3. Demonstrable effective written and oral communication skills, ability to establish effective working
relationships and treat staff with respect.
4. Demonstrable prior experience with keyboarding.
5. Possess orientation toward detail.
6. Superior problem-solving skills as evidenced by ability to work independently with minimum direction.
7. Able to function in a stressful, fast-paced, multi-task environment.
