Straight Outta the Graveyard: Wildly Popular Coffin Races Return to Downtown Conway October 17
Hosted by the Conway Chamber of Commerce, get ready for the second annual Graveyard Grand Prix Coffin Races—a one-of-a-kind Halloween event where homemade, human-powered “coffins” race through the streets of historic downtown Conway. Presented by Radial, the race to the finish line starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17. This unique Halloween-themed event promises high-energy races, creative costumes, family-friendly activities, and a spirited celebration for all ages.
What to Expect
Spectators can cheer on their favorite teams as they race their “coffins” in thrilling head-to-head heats. Alongside the adrenaline-pumping races, the event will feature:

Graveyard Grand Prix t-shirts
Spooky performers and music
Race Format & Rules
Each team must consist of five participants: one rider, dubbed The Ghost, and four pushers. All participants must be at least 16 years old, and safety is key. Each coffin must have four wheels, provide a secure riding position for The Ghost, and be capable of being safely guided and controlled throughout the race. All entries will be inspected prior to competition. Helmets are required for riders and strongly encouraged for pushers.
The Conway Coffin Races will feature two divisions: the Competitive Racing Division and the Spirit Division. The Competitive Division will feature a 16-team double-elimination tournament, with teams racing head-to-head throughout the day as they compete for the championship title. The Spirit Division gives teams the opportunity to join the fun with a focus on creativity, costumes, and crowd engagement. Spirit teams will receive featured Showcase Runs throughout the event schedule and will compete for Spirit Division awards.

Registration Information
Team entry is $75, with limited space available. Registration is now open and spots are expected to fill quickly. A required pre-race team briefing will be held prior to event day. Costumes are highly encouraged, as creativity could mean a shot at an award.
