Habitat for Humanity of Horry County Announces Home Dedication for Rural Rally Project in Partnership with the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project 

Conway, SC — Habitat for Humanity of Horry County is excited to announce the official home dedication for its Rural Rally home build, taking place Wednesday, June 24th at 12:00 PM in Conway, SC. Media, partners, volunteers, and community members are invited to join as we celebrate the completion of a new home for a local professional and her three children. 

This project is a cornerstone of Habitat for Humanity International’s first-ever Rural Rally, a nationwide effort included as part of the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. The initiative highlights the critical need for affordable housing in rural America, putting into practice the principles of service and love championed by President and Mrs. Carter. 

The Rural Rally extends the impact of Habitat’s flagship volunteer event into more than 60 rural communities across the nation. For the Bellamy family, this dedication marks the culmination of a life-changing journey toward strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership. 

“Rural communities like ours face unique challenges when it comes to affordable housing,” said Rachel Kennon, Assistant Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County. “The Rural Rally shines a light on those challenges while celebrating the resilience and strength of our neighbors. This dedication is a testament to what we can achieve when our community comes together to build futures, not just houses.”
