DESCRIPTION:With Halloween on the horizon\, October is prime time for spooky stories.\n\n\n\nThe Horry/Georgetown Area has a long history and\, with the passage of time\, stories are bound to arise.\n\n\n\nWhether you've heard about the supposed haunting of local landmarks or just noticed a lot of blue ceilings on porches\, there is history and folklore that runs deep in many of these local legends.\n\n\n\nJoin us to learn more about some of these local ghost stories and superstitions.\n\n\n\nJoin us on October 8th at 1 pm to learn about some of these local hauntings and superstitions with Horry County Museum Curator Abigail Geedy.\n\n\n\nAbigail Geedy was born and raised in south-central Pennsylvania and moved to South Carolina for college in 2012. She has both an Anthropology Bachelor's and Master's Degree and a Graduate Certificate of Museum Management from the University of South Carolina. She began volunteering in museums in 2011 and worked in curation at the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology for 5 years before joining the Horry County Museum Staff as the Technical Assistant in 2020.\n\nShe has recently been promoted to Curator as of 2022.\n\n\n\nThe program will be held in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street\, Conway SC.
